whatever happened: 2009 edition

Before we get down to business here I just want to quickly give thanks to a few people & wondeful organizations for supporting musicmatterseth.com and keeping me stocked with fresh tunes this year. And thank you for hanging around. Our group here is quickly growing which is kind of cool on a lot of levels. For anyone that has clicked the magic 'suggest to friends' button on Facebook or anyone that regularly takes times out time to listen, you done good, thank you.

That said, special thanks to the execeptional tech team at EQAL, Jeff at Saddle Creek, Captain Joe at EMI, Kelly and Darin at 3D MGMT, Asthmatic Kitty, Gandhar & Lyle from Bankrobber Music, Marni and Sony/ATV, Josh at Barsuk, Last Gang, Jenn Lanchart, The Orchard, RCRDLBL, Downtown, Amy and Tarik at Universal, Hush, Bella Union, Zync Music, David Klein/CAA, Secretly Canadian, and Mr. David Geffen.

I put together 60 minutes of songs I will remember most from 2009, they are posted below. I'm not sure what 2010 will bring but at least we have these forever. You can download them one x one (right click) or make me happy and go for the whole mix. catch up on what you missed out on and feel free to rail me for ignoring your favorite tracks from the year. Edward Sharpe, XX and FanFarlo are clear standouts - but IMO you've missed potentially the two most awesome rock records of '09:  We Were Promised Jetpacks and Cymbals Eat Guitars!  check it out.
